Other collections exhibited during this year's Milan design week include a grow-at-home sponge furniture collection by ECAL and hot-pink versions of Philippe Starck-designed chairs for both humans and Barbie dolls. "Our collection goes hand in hand with the idea of Dropcity, wishing to create and revive the tunnels as a cultural centre where the ideas of materials reuse and handcraft can be taught," the collective said. Garbage Kids was founded by Nika Gabiskiria, Ulla Alla and Luka Abashidze. The collective is a long-term partner of Dropcity, and will continue to operate and host workshops at the Milan site for the foreseeable future.

Many of the vegetables are sourced from Cincinnati-based 80 Acres Farms, which grows its produce indoors so the restaurant has year-round access to tomatoes, herbs, cucumbers and more as opposed to be constrained by Ohio’s growing season. "It's going to be a while before everyone's back in the office – a hybrid model is likely in the medium-term, and so it's even more important we find ways for our people to mingle across departments," said spokesman John Branham. The Catalyst Hub has a number of meeting spaces and gathering areas, a cafeteria, multimedia center and stunning views of downtown Columbus. When one of downtown's largest employers eventually brings its employees back into the office, it will do so in renovated space. Mariotti said the design of the new office is inspired by big technology companies and how they've reacted to the pandemic and work-from-home. Our broad knowledge base & differing perspectives combine to better translate YOUR project goals and culture into a dynamic and innovative environment.

Takapau symbolizes the pivotal moment of birth, representing the passage between light and darkness, between Te Ao Marama (the realm of light) and Te Ao Atua (the realm of the gods). The meticulously chosen tie-downs incorporated into their installation serve not only as practical tools for securing and transporting cargo but also as a nod to the often unacknowledged laborers in society. This intentional selection underscores the importance of interdependence and pays homage to a heritage deserving of recognition. Within the tunnel, the collection by Garbage Kids sits among a larger collection led by design collective and long-term Dropcity partner SOCII.

This is followed by a series of interactive design workshops and charrettes where we work with you to explore, test and validate the possibilities. Our workshops have included interviews, site visits, walking tours, community engagement, concept development and design presentations. We use internal pin-ups and design critiques, bringing staff from other in-house disciplines to provide feedback and constructive insight to create more cohesive environments. Before the Rosetta, their first project was with the Benin bronzes, another heavily disputed colonial artefact scattered across western museums. Looty released a limited collection of 25 NFTs of the bronzes based on a looted Oba (king) head from the British Museum. Each sale contributes 20% into the Looty Fund, which gives out grants to young African artists, especially from Nigeria.

We provide resources for continuing education, professional development programs, and networking. These include regular “Lunch and Learn” sessions, “Design Collective University” seminars, construction site visits, and our “First Thursday” program, where employees socialize and discuss projects, the profession, and life. The WELL Health-Safety seal signifies a commitment to supporting thehealth of individuals within that space. A WELL Accredited Professional is someone who is knowledgeable of the conceptual and applied frameworks of WELL and are experienced in its application.

The position requires support in the preparation of rigorous context analysis, engagement with diverse area stakeholders, and evaluation of economic, historic, cultural, social, and environmental assets of a place. Learin McHugh joins us a recent graduate from Ohio State and has experience with multiple design internships during her undergrad including working on Workplace, Hospitality, and Multi-family projects. During the design process, Learin finds the most rewarding part of each project is seeing conceptual ideas be brought to reality.
Her passion for architecture begins with preservation and restoration in our communities. When Savannah is not at work she enjoy spending time with her rescue pup Reggie and creating charcuterie boards (she wants to open her own business one day). Conor Heisler has been part of the family for the past year as one of our Interns.
The heist involved the pair, plus Hanna, whom they had invited along, going to the vitrine where the stela is displayed and making detailed 3D scans of it on an iPad. This effectively provided the “looters” with a digital copy of the artefact from 196BC totally legally. But their goal wasn’t merely to digitise the Rosetta Stone, but to return it to its place of origin, Rashid (or Rosetta), Egypt, using location-based augmented reality technology (or Geo AR), for local people to view the object from their smartphones. Mataaho Collective’s Takapau installation at the Venice Art Biennale 2024 has clinched the Golden Lion for Best Artist in the International Exhibition Stranieri Ovunque – Foreigners Everywhere. Positioned at the Arsenale’s entrance, the expansive artwork features a woven structure of straps, delicately intersecting throughout the gallery space. The piece creates a captivating interplay of shadows, casting intricate patterns on both the walls and floor, providing viewers with a rich, multisensory experience.
She gained design knowledge through summer internships, studying abroad, and participating in interior design organizations. Sydney has won two academic design awards, The Most Inspiring Student Project Merit Award for her studio work in Florence, Italy, and the CAED X Gallery Award where her work was displayed in the student gallery. She has a passion for space planning and rendering and she enjoys how interior space can impact human connection, behavior, and use. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, playing volleyball, and attending festivals & cultural events around Columbus.
When not in the office, she enjoys updating her closet (which really doesn’t have room for anything else) keeping up with the OSU Buckeyes, or reading a great book. In addition, Maria enjoys spending as much time with her family as she can get, which usually means balancing her time between the two very cultured (and very loud) sides of her Italian/Lebanese family. This holistic approach to problem solving, together, with a talented staff of over 80 professionals with diverse educational and cultural backgrounds has served our clients well since 1978. Our goal is to create architecture, which can lift the human spirit, stimulate the intellect and enhance physical well-being and the affirmation of the spiritual connection between people and nature. We are a multi-disciplinary and award-winning design firm specializing in the following sectors.
Outside of work, Learin enjoys spending time with her family, playing any sort of card or board game (SORRY! is her favorite) and grabbing coffee or brunch with her friends. Learin loves exploring new local shops and restaurants in Columbus as well as her lazy days binging watching new shows and reality tv. Currently, there are 4,921 projects encompassing over 698 million square feet across 65 countries that are applying WELL. Pepper Construction of Ohio is one of those projects and is located in Dublin, Ohio.
